Calling All Artists!

Applications are now being accepted at Northeast Shores for the final round (Round 3) of the Artists in Residence Grant program.  The program gives musicians, writers, photographers and other artists who live or work in North Shore Collinwood the opportunity to carry out community art projects in the neighborhood. For this round, artists are being asked to submit applications for art projects that address vacancy and underutilized space. We’ll be distributing a total of $50,000 this round, with awards of up to $7,500 per project. If you’re an artist living in North Shore Collinwood or working at least 15 hours a week in the neighborhood, and you’d like to make a difference in the community, this program’s for you! Here’s how to apply:

  • Submit an application for the program to the Northeast Shores office (317 East 156th Street) by the deadline – Friday, February 15, at 4:00 p.m. You can access the application online at www.cultureforward.org/Our-Programs/Residence/Grants, or pick up a paper copy from the Northeast Shores office.
  • Before submitting your application, please view the program guidelines (www.cultureforward.org/Our-Programs/Residence/Grants). They’ll give you additional information about the program, plus tips for making a competitive proposal.
  • If you have any questions while you’re working on your application, we’re always happy to chat! You can e-mail Seth Beattie sbeattie@northeastshores.org or Tonya Broach tbroach@northeastshores.org., or feel free to call 216.481.7660.

Also, if you’re working on building out arts-related space in the neighborhood or need to purchase arts-related equipment, you may want to check out our new Artists in Residence loan program, a partnership with NoteWorthy Federal Credit Union. It’s the perfect loan for something that’s not typically covered by a mortgage or that you would have to put on a credit card. With flexible periods of up to four years and interest rates as low as 5.6% APR, this is just one more way that we’re building capacity among our neighborhood’s artists. Learn more at http://www.mycreativecompass.org/Money/Loans/Artists-in-Residence-Loans. For more information about the program, contact Charlie Kamen, Northeast Shores Property Manager at 216.481.7660 or ckamen@northeastshores.org.

We’re so excited to have resources that support the extraordinary work of our neighborhood’s arts community and are so grateful to have an opportunity to work with passionate people like yourselves. We look forward to chatting with you soon.   Good Luck!

The Artists in Residence program is a special partnership of the Community Partnership for Arts and Culture and Northeast Shores Development Corporation, made possible through the generous support of Leveraging Investments in Creativity, the Kresge Foundation, the Ford Foundation, NoteWorthy Federal Credit Union, the Educational Foundation of America, the George Gund Foundation, ArtPlace, KeyBank, the Ohio Arts Council, Charter One Growing Communities and Dominion.
