International Coastal Cleanup Day - September 17th at Euclid Beach

Join Adopt-a-Beach volunteers at Euclid Beach for International Coastal Cleanup Day from 10am-12pm at Euclid Creek Reservation - Euclid Beach 16301 Lakeshore Blvd.
Volunteers at Euclid Beach will take part in a global beach cleanup in partnership with the Alliance for the Great Lakes Adopt-a-Beach program and the Ocean Conservancy. On International Coast Cleanup Day, thousands of volunteers head to beach cleanups around the world to raise awareness about the challenges of plastic pollution in our water. Debris collected at the Euclid Beach cleanup is recorded on data cards and submitted to the Alliance for the Great Lakes and the Ocean Conservancy along with data from beaches across the globe! Volunteers will meet at the Euclid Beach Picnic Pavilion about 10-15 minutes before the cleanup to sign in (the entrance to Euclid Beach is located directly across the street from the Collinwood Rec Center).
While not required, volunteers can pre register for the cleanup on the Alliance for the Great Lakes Adopt-a-Beach website at http://www.greatlakesadopt.org by searching 'Euclid Beach' and selecting the 9/17 beach cleanup.
Refreshments will be provided to before and after the beach cleanup and all participating volunteers will receive a half off coupon redeemable at Chilli Peppers restaurant (869 E 185th St, Cleveland) towards the purchase of one entree and drink. You can't beat that!
Dress for the weather (this is a rain or shine event), Bring water, Wear long sleeves and pants, boots or work shoes, and work gloves are recommended. Trash bags and gloves will be provided.
All groups are welcome to participate, but children under age 18 require a parent or guardian's signature upon sign in. Children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.

If beach cleanups just aren't your thing, join Friends of Euclid Creek and The Euclid Creek Watershed Program http://www.euclidcreekwatershed.org/euclid-creek for a Wetland Cleanup just up the road at Euclid Creek Reservation - Wildwood from 10am-12pm on the same day!
Volunteers will help with planting native streamside plants, cleaning up trash, removing invasives and other maintenance activities in the wetland and streamside restoration area at the Wildwood Lacustrine Wetland.
Meet at the Wildwood Picnic pavilion. Wildwood Park is located at E. 174th St. and Lakeshore Blvd. in Cleveland.
Dress for the weather, Bring water, wear long sleeves and pants, boots or work shoes, and work gloves are recommended. Trash bags will be provided.
