Gcdc Hosts Hiring Event In Partnership With Us Census Bureau

Greater Collinwood Development Corporation hosted its first US Census Bureau Hiring Event, Wednesday Feb. 5th at Five Pointe Community Center. Attendees received information about and assistance in applying for the US Census Bureau Enumerator position. Cleveland Industrial Innovation Center was also in attendance to provide information about and to recruit for a General Labor position, which they are currently seeking to fill.

FIBERWORX uses recycled plastic materials to create a clean and lightweight synthetic fiber used in numerous commercial applications, such as padding, linings, insulation and industrial filters. Fiberworx currently focuses on automotive applications and supplies material to 1st tier customers for both thermal and acoustic products. The company operates multiple lines including thermally bonded PET, toll compounding, as well as other secondary processes.

Fiberworx is seeking to fill a General Labor position at their facility on St. Clair Ave. The position requires High School Diploma or equivalent, at least 3 years’ experience operating manual machinery in a production-based environment, mechanical proficiency, attention to detail, ability to perform basic arithmetic (including reading a tape measure), and complete drug test and background check. Extrusion experience is highly desirable; Quality experience is highly desirable. Responsibilities include: setting up and operating a wide range of nonwoven processing equipment, partake in the process of manufacturing thermal, acoustic and filtration products, set up fiber formulas, utilize hand tools and measuring devices, troubleshoot and repair issue with machines, confer with engineering, supervisory or manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information, and comply with all safety rules and company policies. Pay for this position is $12.00/hr - $13.00/hr, day shift with full benefits, PTO and 401K.
