Lowdown at Lakeshore Intergenerational School

A Junior Cluster student guides a Primary Cluster student in solving a problem.

It’s hard to believe it's May already! With May comes the conclusion of another successful year of learning at Lakeshore Intergenerational School, our 4th as a member of the Collinwood community. On behalf of the entire Lakeshore community, THANK YOU to all of our mentors, Intergenerational partners, and community members throughout Collinwood, Euclid, and Cleveland for another amazing year of support, care, compassion, guidance and most important of all…fun! We simply couldn’t achieve our mission of being spirited citizens and lifelong learners without each and every one of you and all that you do for our students.

While the year may be ending, we plan to end with a lot of fun and educational opportunities for our kids! Our students will celebrate the end of the year with their Intergenerational partners on their final IG visits of the year. All of our students will be attending a Lake County Captains baseball game (which was made possible through their Literacy Program). Junior Achievement will stop by to enthrall our students with economic activities. We will have a performance by the Cleveland School of the Arts Choir. Our field trip schedule is fully booked. We have trips planned to the Cleveland MetroParks, the Great Lakes Science Center, Mitchell’s Ice Cream, and the West Side Market. To end the year, we have two very exciting events. The first being our Spring Musical. This year we will be performing Aladdin. We are very happy and thrilled that La Salle Theater has agreed to partner with us as host for this event. The public is welcome to attend this showing on Thursday, April 17th at 6:00 pm. The last day of school for students is Friday, May 25th. We end every school year with field day; a fun afternoon of games and activities for the children. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate the end of a year of learning and kick off summer.
