Ballot Box Outcomes

This was a big election year – not politically, but right here in Collinwood for the Ballot Box Project. The final projects have finally wrapped up, and this is what they brought:

Stephen Bivens has his photography on display at Six Shooter Coffee. During his project, This is Collinwood: History of Everyday People, he photographed 100 people throughout the neighborhood, and gave them a print. All this was for FREE! His exhibit opened during November’s Walk All Over Waterloo.

Lori Kella completed her seasonal cookbook, Grow.Cook.Collinwood with the help of the community. The book was debuted during November’s Walk All Over Waterloo with samples from the season. For your loved ones who love to eat, this book makes an excellent gift! To purchase your copy, contact Lori at http://www.growcookcollinwood.com/  or head to Maria Neil Art Project, Waterloo Arts, or the Coit Road Farmer’s Market.

Cindy Barber has Bicycle Rickshaws on Waterloo. Her 14 year old driver Francis loves riding the rickshaw and learning about the businesses on the street. He was out in the neighborhood during Halloween on WaterBOO! and the October and November Walk All Over Waterloo. If you missed them, they’ll be out next year.

John Copic

Resident of neighborhood since 1956. Worked on East 185th street since 1970.
