Collinwood Recreation Center Y.O.U. 2016 “16 Strong Finished Tall”

Collinwood Recreation Center one of many fine jewels in the city of Cleveland has conquered another year of successful youth completing the opportunity to work in the summer.  Our youth was presented the platform from the organization, Youth Opportunities Unlimited in Collaboration with the City of Cleveland to have job exposure.  Our youth or what I like to call this group “16 Strong” was able to partake in several of events and earn income at the same time.  The events consisted of working the Mayor’s Night out against Crime, the Division of Recreation Track and Field event at Collinwood Stadium, and the Collinwood Recreation Center Summer Splash vendor event.  If they were not working events they were doing a great job making sure that are center was being held high on our 4 C’s of Collinwood, which consist of Communication, Collaboration, Customer Service and Cleanliness.  In addition they were able to assist with feeding our children in the City of Cleveland through the summer lunch program.  Lastly, they were able to enjoy each other on a “Fun Day” exploring the newly renowned East Bank of The Flats and Public Square in downtown Cleveland.  They had a fun filled day running through the water, taking pictures with each other, playing tag on the green space and enjoying being youth.  Class of 2016, like all the other classes are a special group.  They left an exceptional mark on Collinwood Recreation Center. Through it all they was the class of “16 Strong that Finished Tall”.
