Girls Empowerment Conference To be Held at Cleveland Convention Center

With so many workshops focusing on women empowerment,  a much needed youth empowerment conference focusing on self-esteem and creative expression is gearing up to kick off in Cleveland, OH just before summer ends. The “Free 2 Be Me: D.I.V.A.S.” conference is targeted at girls ages 11-16 and will focus on career exploration, leadership, goal setting, health and wellness, and self-esteem. The D.I.V.A.S. program, which is an acronym for demonstrating inner value, acceptance, and self-worth has been in existence for the last 5 years and over 250 girls have been a part of the weekly girls group.

“Self-esteem and recognizing the importance of self-love is so critical to positive and healthy development for our girls.  It is critical and necessary that we provide networking and mentoring opportunities for our girls to be able to take ownership of their development at a young age”, states Angela Flowers, organizer of the conference.

The conference will be held on Saturday August 8, 2015 at the Cleveland Convention Center located at 300 Lakeside Avenue Cleveland, OH 44113. Space is limited and registration is required.  If you are interested in serving as a volunteer for the day, panelist for the career discussion, vendor, or would like to help sponsor a girl to attend the event, please visit divasconference2015.eventbrite.com or contact Angela C. Flowers at 216-394-3012 or Acflowers32@yahoo.com.
