Calling All Volunteers for the Collinwood Fire Memorial Garden!

The Little Red Cap Project :

Clean-Up The Garden

Sat. July 18th  8 am - 12 noon

Memorial School on E 152nd.

Know many of you will have heard about our new Little Red Cap Project, to restore the Collinwood School Fire Memorial Garden!

We had a great meeting on June 13th, and decided that the first thing we had to do was get the Garden presentable - basically weeding and getting a good layer of mulch down to keep it weeded. (If you weren't able to be there, and want to be part of this - just email or call me or Charlotte, so we'll be able keep you informed - and thanks!)

To that end, we're planning our first hands-on-in the-Garden work session for Saturday July 18th, from 8 am to noon (it being mid-July after all, we're hoping to beat the heat, at least somewhat). Please bring your own tools and gloves etc. and dress to get grubby! We'll provide bags and some tools, but appreciate you bringing your own.

We know not everyone can actually climb up into the Garden itself, but please don't let that stop you from coming! There's ground level weeding that needs doing too, plus just general cleaning up.

We definitely want as many people as possible there - the more the merrier! Not to mention making the job just easier on us all. If you can give us just a bit of time, it all helps! So come on by - we'll be glad to see you!

We'll also be planning another meeting to begin the planning the re-planting; the good news is, we have the support of the Gardeners of Greater Cleveland, who can help us with this. Once we have a plan, we can begin raising money to not only get the Garden looking its best now, but also keep it that way.

So if you're interested in helping in any way on this - we'll definitely need all kinds of talents and abilities to do this! Contact us at Elva Brodnick at either carrollsell@gmail.com or 216-738-0626 or Charlotte Iafeliece at ciafeliece@aol.com or 216-401-8778. And check us out on Facebook!

Thanks again! Look forward to seeing everyone July 18th!
