Waterloo Alley Cat Project Celebrates National Feral Cat Day at Beachland Tavern

The Waterloo Alley Cat Project will be holding a free community awareness event celebrating National Feral Cat Day on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the Beachland Tavern, 15711 Waterloo Road.  Alley Cat Allies created National Feral Cat Day in 2001 as the annual kick-off for its national educational campaign about the protection of stray and feral cats across the country. This event will provide a unique opportunity for everyone who cares about animals to get together toward a common goal — to end the euthanasia and suffering of companion and homeless animals.

This event begins at 7 pm and will include: a short informative video about the work performed by the Waterloo Alley Cat Project, audience judging of NE Ohio’s Cutest Rescued Cat Photo Contest, an art raffle, and appetizers. DJs Little Lighthouse & Ghoulbunny will be spinning music and live music by Shane Didow and Cobra Verde. Monetary donations or cat food donations will be greatly appreciated, but not mandatory for entry to the event.

For further information about how to enter your rescued feline in the Northeast Ohio Cutest Rescued Cat Photo Contest go to the group’s website for details: www.waterlooalleycatproject.com.

This event made possible by the Collinwood Rising Grant Program through the generous support of The Kresge Foundation, Northeast Shores Development Corp. and Cuyahoga Arts and Culture.
