It’s Eerie in Collinwood

Ready for some family friendly fright? Mark your calendars for Saturday October 18 for one wizardry day! Dress up and take your family, or go solo to the Boo at the Beach Euclid Beach Adopt-a-Beach Team beach cleanup and costume contest from 10am-noon, then head over to Halloween on WaterBoo Road from noon to 2pm, and then fancy your fright with a Halloween Party at STAR POP vintage + modern from 2-5pm. Three great events, one great day!

Here’s a breakdown of all the frightening fun!

Boo at the Beach! 10am-12pm Euclid Beach Park

If litter washing up on our shores is not a scary enough, try a beach cleanup in Halloween costumes! Join Adopt-a-Beach (TM) volunteers for our second annual Boo at the Beach cleanup and costume contest at Euclid Creek Reservation-Euclid Beach (16301 Lakeshore Boulevard).

This year’s costume contest categories include:

Most Reusable: Incorporates recycled and reused elements -no matter the theme!

Most Lake Erie Lovin' : Show us how you love Lake Erie and all the creatures that inhabit it!

Spookiest: Ahh!

Cutest: Aww...

Cleverest: Clever...

Time to get creative!

Following the beach cleanup participants in the costume contest will be judged and awarded prizes on the the stage on the corner of Waterloo Rd. and 156th St. at 12:30pm

You do not have to wear a costume to participate in the beach cleanup but you will certainly win the Least Creative contest category!

No masks will be permitted during the beach cleanup or anything that inhibits your ability to see or walk on uneven terrain. And please, only family friendly costume attire.

Please wear closed toed shoes and dress appropriately for the weather.  Children under 10 are required to be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Gloves, bags, rakes and trash pickers along with light refreshments will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own!

Halloween on WaterBoo Road: 12pm-2pm-Waterloo Sculpture Garden

Northeast Shores is hosting a family friendly event, Halloween on WaterBOO Road. This will be a family friendly afternoon of Halloween activities on Waterloo Road October 18, 2014 from noon till 2 p.m. The event kicks off with a costume contest at 12:30pm.  Dress up in your favorite costume and prepare to be judged for the best use of reused materials, cutest, or scariest creature in the neighborhood! The costume contest categories are listed above in the Boo at the Beach announcement The contest will be held at 12:30p, at the Waterloo Sculpture Garden located at 16010 Waterloo Road.

After the costume contest, experience Waterloo Road like never before. The kids will take over the street for Trick-or-Treat. There will be an opportunity for the kids to get crafty with some of the local artists, including a pumpkin painting and beach cleanup trash workshop with Linda Zolten Wood, in partnership with Euclid Beach Adopt-A-Beach Team and Waterloo Sculpture Garden.

Halloween Party at STAR POP vintage + modern.

The Halloween party will include pizza, candy, prizes, and fun kid friendly Halloween arts and crafts with local artist and art teacher Brittainy Lee Quinn. Kids and adults will be able to keep their finished spooky project.

So don’t be mummy, come out to the party!
