Euclid Creek Tunnel work to impact traffic on Lakeshore Blvd.

The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District's Euclid Creek Tunnel will drastically reduce the amount of raw sewage entering area waterways – including Euclid Creek and Lake Erie – during heavy rain events. This project began construction in April 2011 and is on schedule to be complete next Spring.

A portion of this project includes new sewer construction beneath Lakeshore Boulevard at the intersection of E. 156 Street; this work will begin late October.

To successfully install the necessary components of this project, the Sewer District will close the northernmost two lanes of Lakeshore Boulevard for approximately four to six months.  In addition, E. 156 Street will be closed to northbound traffic at Lakeshore Boulevard.

Signage will be posted clearly indicating the traffic pattern changes.  Traffic and RTA services will be maintained in both directions throughout this period with a clearly marked detour for E. 156th Street.
