Community Gardening 2015

As the summer season tapers off, gardeners begin planning for the next growing season. As such, the Ohio State University Extension (OSUE) is prepping for their 2015 Summer Sprout Community Gardening Program. OSUE helps community gardeners by providing a variety of technical assistance that includes soil testing, garden design, and educational workshops and trainings.

OSUE helps community gardens blossom. When your community garden goes through OSUE’s Summer Sprout Program, it is also eligible to receive materials and services such as seeds, starter plants, tilling, soil amendments, and materials for raised beds. OSUE has been assisting urban gardens for 30 years, with 180 active gardens in 2014. Act quick, the application deadline to join this great program is September 20, 2014.
