Papa Assane M’Baye and Tam Tam Magic African Dance and Drum Workshop!

Children and young adults, join Cleveland-based percussion ensemble, Papa Assane M’Baye and Tam Tam Magic for an exuberant African dance and drum workshop!
This one hour workshop will present children and young adults with the opportunity to experience traditional West African Arts & Culture. It will introduce participants to splendid movements based on authentic traditional dances of West African cultures, learn the meanings of the dances, and allow them to experience percussion instruments and the meaning of rhythms of countries lining the coast of West Africa. Come be part of this exuberant experience!
Maria Estrella
Maria F. Estrella is the new Cleveland Public Library Children’s Librarian at Memorial-Nottingham Branch. She has several years of public and special library experience, including technical training, conducting story times in Spanish and English, and implementing small group programs for children, teenagers, and adults. Maria’s undergraduate degree from Cleveland State University is in Bachelors of Arts and Sciences, majoring in Social Work and Spanish, and she has recently received a Master’s of Library and Information Science at Kent State University. Maria is extremely honored and excited to work in North Collinwood community, and is recently making arrangements to visit all neighborhood schools, and day cares.
