Here Comes the Red Engine! Cleveland Fire Department

Tuesday, July 12, 2011, 2:30 – 4:30 p.m.

 Children, young adults and families, join the Cleveland Fire Department, as they discuss fire safety tips, and demonstrate various fire equipment, such as the Smoke House!  The Smoke House is a 32 foot mobile version of a home which uses non-toxic smoke and an alarm system to teach children how to escape a home fire.

Maria Estrella

Maria F. Estrella is the new Cleveland Public Library Children’s Librarian at Memorial-Nottingham Branch. She has several years of public and special library experience, including technical training, conducting story times in Spanish and English, and implementing small group programs for children, teenagers, and adults. Maria’s undergraduate degree from Cleveland State University is in Bachelors of Arts and Sciences, majoring in Social Work and Spanish, and she has recently received a Master’s of Library and Information Science at Kent State University. Maria is extremely honored and excited to work in North Collinwood community, and is recently making arrangements to visit all neighborhood schools, and day cares. If you have not met her yet, make sure you attend some of the regular Children’s and Young Adult Programs at Memorial-Nottingham Branch.
