Memorial School holds its third Annual Science Fair
Memorial School Science Fair winners received their awards from Principal Lori Rondo.
Memorial School held its 3rd Annual School Science Fair on January 20, 2010. One sixty-two students submitted individual projects which were scored by judges from the Cleveland area. Five class projects were also submitted. Awards for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners by grade level, were presented on February 3, 2010 after report card pick-up. Parents of some of the winners were present to share in the proud moment with their children. Mrs. Rondo, Memorial's Principal, officiated the ceremony.
This year's number of participants was the highest yet for a Science Fair at the school. Raquiyyah Taylor's project on "flubber", called Stretch, Bounce, and Roll earned her first place in the 5th grade. Her project also received a perfect score of 100 in the judging! The judge was duly impressed with her knowledge of her topic and the care that went into her experiment. Several of the winning projects from the 7th and 8th grade will go on to compete at the regional competition in March, at the Northeastern Ohio Science and Engineering Fair. Congratulations to all the winners and participants.
