With a child's heart

"With a child's heart, go face the worries of the day. With a child's heart, turn each problem into play." A song by the beloved Michael Jackson expresses the innocence and carefree attitude of a child, that we as adults sometimes forget.

Watching my young grandchildren as they grow, moving through their young lives so happy and carefree, showing no concerns about how the bills will be paid or where their next meal will come from, my grandchildren "know" they will get something to eat.

Watching them at play is magical. To see them light up and their faces smile at what seems to be the smallest feat, like catching the ball I throw to them, brings out the child in me. In that moment, I become like them, the happy and carefree child forgetting about my worries and concerns. It is in God's words that we find encouragement to become as little children, and not to worry, but believe and have faith as we work our way through any obstacles. The child inside of us is still there to be realized and utilized.

When life's challenges become hard to bear, turn lemons into lemonaide positively and playfully, by feeling with the child's heart within you.
