Cluster Masses add to spiritual life

On Monday, March 15, a cluster Mass will be held at St. Casimir Roman Catholic Church on Neff Road. Father Michael Woost from St. Mary Seminary in Wickliffe will preside over the Mass and give the homily. There will be a social hour after the Mass  to talk with others.

At a cluster Mass service, four parishes meet together for Mass and a social hour afterwards. At the end of Lent and Advent the cluster churches hold a communal penance service.  The four churches and the participating clergy in Collinwood are Father John Kumse, St Mary's Roman Catholic Church; Father Anthony Cassesse, St. Jerome's Roman Catholic Church; Father Joseph Bocevic, St.Casimir's Roman Catholic Church; and Father Mary Polito, Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church.

Begun in the early 1980's, the cluster Masses allow members of the churches to get to know each other and pray and work together in one Catholc community. There is also social and spiritual outreach in the cluster churches.

At St. Mary's on Monday, March 8, there were 200 people who attended the Mass and social hour. It truly was a beautiful experience for me.

For further information, contact Father Polito at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church,  216-531-3313.
