Free Summer Camp for Youths

Free Summer Camp

This year’s annual D.I.V.A.S and Boys ll Men, Free Summer Camp, will be held at Oliver H. Perry Elementary School, from June 4th through June 21st.

The camp is for all youths in the Collinwood community, who are in grades 4 through 8, and will be held on Monday through Thursday, from 9:00AM to 1:00PM.

At the camp, youths will be able to enjoy a variety of programs, and enhance their natural talents.  They will learn leadership skills, hear guest speakers, and play sports like dodgeball, basketball and board games. 

"The summer camp will be full of different activities, including: photography, art, poetry, writing, and include field trips (to the Zoo and skating)," said Angela Flowers, co-founder of Making a Difference Consulting, and creator of the D.I.V.A.S.and Boys II Men, Annual Summer Camp.

"The Summer Camp will give youths the skills they need to transfer into the next school year, and it will help with social skills," she said.

"D.I.V.A.S and Boys ll Men Free Summer Camp is sponsored through grants from Starting Point and MyCOM, a community partnership that enriches youths through after school activities.  This grant provides community dollars for the Collinwood Community," said Flowers

Oliver H Perry Elementary School is located at 18400 Schenely Ave, Cleveland, OH 44119.

"Registration will still be accepted one and a half weeks into the event," said Flowers.

Jeanne Coppola is a lifelong resident of the Collinwood neighborhood, and is interested in art and writing. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Cleveland State University.
