the Davita Kidney Awareness Run/Walk!

The DaVita Kidney Awareness Run | Walk—a family-friendly, healthy charitable outdoor event coming to Cleveland, on Saturday September 25!...THIS WEEKEND!!!
In order to make the event successful, we depend on dozens of volunteers to help us out on the day of the event, with everything from registration to setup to games and activities. The event is less that a week away and we are still in need of Volunteers!
The event features a screening for kidney disease at no cost, entertainment and games for the whole family, as well as a kidney health expo to help promote awareness about chronic kidney disease.
The funds raised for this year’s events will help to benefit The Kidney TRUST, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization working to prevent kidney disease through public education and awareness across the United States.
Registering to volunteer is free and easy, and can be done all online at www.kidneyawarenesstime.org All volunteers receive breakfast and a 2010 event shirt for coming out. We can even provide you with an official letter of volunteering hours if you are in need of credit.

The Euclid Beach Adopt-a-Beach September 25th Beach Cleanup

Join The Euclid Beach Team As We Clean and Screen Euclid Beach on Saturday September 25th as part of the Ohio Coastweeks Cleanup and the International Coastal Cleanup Day!!
*From October 2009 through August 2010 our team has collected over 500 pounds of trash!! Imagine what we can do with your help!
We will start by meeting in the pavilion at 10am and then head down to the beach collecting the trash we find (this is an eye opening experience!). We will then conduct beach observation and interactive water quality tests. Finally, we will wrap things up at 1200pm with some refreshments, pictures, a trash weighing contest and a look a recap of our events and projects for 2010.
*Volunteers interested in participating in the beach cleanup should be advised to wear closed toed shoes, dress appropriately for the weather and apply both sun screen and bug repellent. Disposable gloves, trash bags, trash pickers, rakes and refreshments will be provided to cleanup participants*.
